Which Promos Excite Giants Fans Most?
Based on this Reddit survey, Hello Kitty Night is the favorite Giants themed promotion this season.
Hello Kitty Night, on May 11, drew 42% of all votes in our Reddit survey. That’s followed by the team’s Heritage Celebrations (25%), then a three-way tie among Pixar Day, Star Wars Day and Jerry Garcia Day (11% each).
The May 11 game against the Cincinnati Reds (4:15 p.m. Pacific time first pitch) includes Hello Kitty-themed bucket hats for the first 15,000 fans. See the MLB Giants schedule page for more details.
San Francisco has a variety of Heritage Celebration nights throughout the season. They begin May 10 with Irish Heritage Night, against the Reda at 7:15 p.m. These special themes continue with the following games: May 17 (Japanese Heritage Night against the Colorado Rockies), May 28 (Chinese Heritage Night vs. the Philadelphia Phillies), May 31 (African American Heritage Day vs. the New York Yankees), June 14 (Native American Heritage Night vs. the Los Angeles Angels), June 26 (Korean Heritage Night vs. the Chicago Cubs), July 9 (Italian Heritage Night vs. the Toronto Blue Jays), Aug. 20 (Filipino Heritage Night vs. the Chicago White Sox), Sept. 4 (Mexican Heritage Night vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks), Sept. 10 (Polynesian Heritage Night vs. the Milwaukee Brewers) and Sept. 12 (Jewish Heritage Night against the Brewers).
Pixar Day takes place June 16 against the Angels, with an Inside Out 2 T-shirt included with ticket purchase. Star Wars Day is Aug. 11 against the Tigers, with 15,000 fans receiving a Star Wars Yoda hat.
Finally, the Giants have Jerry Garcia Day is on Aug. 12 against the Atlanta Braves. The late, legendary Grateful Dead frontman is being honored with tie-dye jerseys and other gameday giveaways ahead of, and during, the 6:45 p.m. contest.
