Davante Adams Trade Rumors: Star Receiver Lands With Rams

  • šŸˆ Star receiver Davante Adams was on the move again after his release from the Jets
  • šŸ‘€ The 49ers, Chargers and Rams were in the mix for his services next NFL season.
  • ā˜€ļø Ultimately, Sean McVay and Les Snead convinced Adams to take his talents to L.A.

Once the New York Jets released three-time All-Pro wideout Davante Adams, the chase was on for NFL teams to land the future Hall of Famer, with the 32-year-old exiting the Meadowlands after a single (half) season with Gang Green.

Adams had a solid year in 2024-25, with 854 yards on 67 receptions for the Jets after starting the year with the Las Vegas Raiders, giving him a full season total of 85 catches, 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns between the two AFC teams, with an approximate value of 10 in his 11th NFL season.

With that in mind, BetCalifornia.com - home to California sports betting developments - broke down the odds on where Adams would suit up next, with a trio of California teams atop our odds board. Ultimately, the Rams landed Adams, who will pair with Matt Stafford in L.A. next season.

Where Does Davante Adams Go Next?

Adams' numbers were down across the board from his final full year with Las Vegas, though, when it came to receptions (down 18 from the 103 he finished with during 2023), yards (down 81 yards from the 1,133 he had in 2023) and touchdowns (down six from the 14 he had in 2023), speaking to the need for another change of scenery for the veteran out of Fresno State.

Still, Adamsā€™ ability to post his fifth straight 1,000-yard season speaks to the value he presents to an NFL club in the new year, which is why we gave him +350 odds of landing with the San Francisco 49ers, who just traded a star WR of their own (Deebo Samuel Jr.) to the Washington Commanders for a draft pick. Instead, Adams goes to the Niners' division rival in the Rams, who are getting their hands on one of the leagueā€™s most dynamic pass catchers, with the veteran showing heā€™s still got plenty of miles left after a strong 2024 campaign with the woebegone Jets in the Meadowlands.
