The Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorite for the World Series at major sportsbooks across the country – in other states, that is. Fans awaiting legal California sportsbooks will have to visit them if they wish to place a wager.
The Dodgers have been to the postseason for 11 consecutive years, the longest active playoff streak not only in Major League Baseball but the four traditional major sports (MLB, NFL, NHL and NBA). Yet the team wasn’t satisfied, and spent big bucks (or trade assets) to bring in Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow.
That’s enough to bring in the fans by the millions. However, just as all MLB teams do, the franchise also offers special themes or promotions for games at Dodger Stadium throughout the season.
So BetCalifornia.com paused its coverage of potential California sports betting apps to bring you the most popular theme nights. We looked at the Los Angeles Dodgers 2024 promotions and events schedule to see the giveaways or themes, then we surveyed Dodgers fans on Reddit for their favorites. Here are the top five promotions according to their votes, which we tabulated from March 22-25, 2024.

In neighboring Arizona, Caesars Sportsbook has the Dodgers at +350 odds to win the 2024 World Series.
Star Wars Night led the way with 43% of the vote in our Reddit-based survey. That’s the theme for the game on May 6 against the Florida Marlins, when a special ticket is required to get a Star Wars-related giveaway item. It’s a slight surprise that this theme night is not May 4 (as in, May the Fourth be with you…) but Star Wars-themed items have been popular draws across MLB in recent seasons. There is Star Wars branding on almost everything you can imagine including slot machines; perhaps California online casino games will someday be legal so residents can check them out.
Second on our list is Women’s Night (24% of the vote), which is July 23 against the archrival San Francisco Giants. Like Star Wars Night, a special ticket is required to get a special item related to the day’s theme; this is not a stadium-wide promotion.
Two of the theme nights on our list fall within the final week of home games at Dodger Stadium during the regular season. Dia De Los Dodgers Night (16%) is Sept. 24 against the San Diego Padres in an NL West showdown. Before that, Firefighters Appreciation Night (11%) is Sept. 22 for yet another division game against the Colorado Rockies.
LGBTQ+ Pride Night (6%), June 14 against the Kansas City Royals, finishes our top five list.
