The Golden State Warriors’ quest for their fourth NBA title in 10 years has gotten off to a strong start with consecutive blowout wins over the Denver Nuggets.
Steve Kerr’s squad thumped the Nuggets, 126-106, on Monday after a 123-107 win Saturday in the Western Conference first-round series, setting the stage for Thursday’s Game 3 in the Mile High City.
So far, the 53-29 Warriors have been paced in the series by guard Jordan Poole, who leads all players with 29.5 points per game. Steph Curry is averaging 25 points coming off the bench, and Klay Thompson is averaging 20 PPG.
Thursday’s Game 3, which tips off at 7 p.m. Pacific time on TNT, could be a make-or-break affair for the sixth-seeded Nuggets.
Unfortunately, Golden State fans will need to head to Arizona or Nevada to place legal wagers on their team. The fate of California sports betting will be determined at the ballot box in November.
Golden State Slight Favorites over Denver in Game 3
BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook all have the Warriors as the betting favorite in Game 3, with odds ranging from -1.5 to -2.
For those looking to place a moneyline wager across state lines, BetMGM has the Warriors at -120, Caesars has them at -125, FanDuel Sportsbook at -126 and DraftKings Sportsbook at -130.
Anyone looking to place a wager on who will win the Warriors-Nuggets series can do so on the four sites, with odds of the Nuggets advancing ranging from -1400 (BetMGM) to -2000 (Caesars and FanDuel).
How Golden State’s Championship Odds Stack Up
The Warriors' impressive two-game start to the NBA postseason might have impressed fans more than oddsmakers.
For all their success of late, Golden State still finds itself behind its fellow Western Conference foe, Phoenix, and the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks on the four major mobile sportsbook sites.
The team’s best NBA title odds come on FanDuel Sportsbook and BetMGM, which have the Warriors at +500, ranking behind the Suns (+200 on each) and Bucks (+450 and +470, respectively).
In between, you will find Golden State at +550 to win the 2022 NBA title on DraftKings Sportsbook and +575 on Caesars Sportsbook — ranking behind the Suns (+200 on each) and Bucks (+475 on each).
The Warriors would play the winner of the Memphis-Minnesota series in the second round of the NBA Playoffs if they advance past the Nuggets.
