De’Aaron Fox Trade Rumors: Where Will The Sacramento Kings Guard Get Traded?

Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

After a disappointing start to the 2024-25 NBA regular season that resulted in coach Mike Brown getting fired, it would have made sense for the then 15-19 Sacramento Kings to take offers on the Western Conference squad’s most talented players, with 2023 All-NBA guard De’Aaron Fox being atop that list.

Fox has been solid for the Kings this year, with 25.2 points per game across 43 games, building on a career where he’s racked up 33.0 win shares and a player efficiency rating of 18.8, according to Basketball-Reference.com.

Also - the Kings coaching change appears to have worked in the short-term, as they are 7-3 in their last 10 with Doug Christie. Kings GM Monte McNair likely was ready to make a move before the resurgence, which is why BetCalifornia.com broke down some hypothetical odds on which NBA team will land Fox next.

As we monitor movement across the California sports betting landscape, stick around for more developments on the Sacramento Kings as well.

Rockets, Lakers Could Still Land Fox

Thanks to the Kings resurgence under Christie, we like Fox to remain in Sacramento for now. But we can still speculate on which team may call and make an offer the Kings can't refuse in the coming week.

Right now, we have the upstart Houston Rockets (+1200) as our top team to land Fox next, with the surprising second seed in the Western Conference league table landing ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat, who are co-listed at +1500 apiece.

Throw in a pair of longshots in the Orlando Magic (+2000) and San Antonio Spurs (+3000) and you have the full scope of NBA teams that we see being in on Fox’s backcourt services ahead of the NBA’s Feb. 6 trade deadline.

For now, Fox and his teammates in Sacramento will try their best to keep the good vibes going under Christie, with the franchise looking to make a postseason run for the second time in the last three years after missing out in 2024, despite a strong 46-36 record at year’s end.
