Miller Moss Transfer Portal Destinations: Former USC QB Heads To Louisville

Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

College football’s transfer portal is in full swing, with some high-profile players having already found a new home for next fall.

One of those is Miller Moss. Moss announced via social media that he would be leaving Southern Cal, which just wrapped up a 6-6 season. The 6-2 junior started the first nine games of the season.

Moss was connected with several schools at potential landing spots. On3’s Pete Nakos reported Moss would likely look to go to Auburn, Iowa, Louisville and Michigan. In this NIL era, all four of those schools would have the connections to land Moss and make him the centerpiece of their team next season.

Moss eventually went with Louisville, as he'll look to lead the Cardinals to the CFP next season.

Before Moss’ announcement, BetCalifornia - home to all movement across the California sports betting scene - set the following odds for the signal caller’s next school. Even if sports betting were legal in California, you were not able to place a wager on any of these odds, as they were for entertainment purposes only.

Auburn Lead The Board For Moss' Services

We saw it as a close race between Auburn, Louisville and Michigan.

Auburn is historically one of the top programs in the SEC, but it’s been a few years since the Tigers have been nationally significant. They’ve posted four straight losing seasons, and at 5-7, coach Hugh Freeze’s team did not get a bowl bid this year.

The Tigers have not been ranked at any time during the past three seasons, and the 2020 COVID season was the last time the team was ranked in the top 10 at any point. Could Moss have helped the Tigers stand out in the overcrowded SEC? In nine games against Power Five schools, their eight SEC games and a non-conference game versus California, the Tigers only topped 24 points twice, and those accounted for their only wins in those nine games.
