It should come as no surprise that there’s proof California keeps things fashionable.
On Friday, June 30, it’s National Outfit of the Day (OOTD) Day. Popularized on Instagram, the tag is used for users worldwide to show off their fashion prowess. But which states in the U.S. are the most fashionable? BetCalifornia.com took a break from covering the latest news on sports betting in California issues to find out.
Using data from Cosmopolitan, FarFetch, PrepScholar and America’s Next Top Model Winners, BetCalifornia.com created a weighted points system to rank the most fashionable states. Data points include states of origin for the most popular American fashion designers and America’s Next Top Model Winners, states that are home to top fashion universities in the United States, and popular opinion.
Most Fashionable States
Second-Best When It Comes to Fashion
After crunching the numbers, California ranked No. 2 behind New York, where most of the world’s top designers go to school and learn their craft. New York City and Los Angeles are where most of the nation’s fashion experts live and thrive off one another, so New York and California ranking 1-2 would be a winning hand if there were California online casinos.
The top fashion designers that hail from California include famous twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, who started The Row, Mike Amiri for his Amiri line and Rick Owens.
The Olsen twins have made it big with The Row. As described by FarFetch.com, their line is “nothing short of inspiring” and “it pays strict attention to the all-important details.” And now, they’re making clothes for children, too, so their empire is growing.
While most of the nation’s top universities for fashion are in New York, California boasts one of the best with Otis College of Art and Design.
That’s where Owens, who was born in Porterville, studied for two years before launching his career in the 1990s. Owens, who now lives in Paris, designs clothes for men and women and he even has a furniture line.
Amiri, a Hollywood native, made a name for himself working with musicians such as Axl Rose and Steven Tyler and then he launched his own fashion line in 2014.
California is also home to three winners from America’s Next Top Model with Saleisha Stowers in 2007, Lisa D’Amato in 2011 and Eva Pigford in 2004.
