Where Will Donovan Dent Transfer?

The 2025 Mountain West Conference Player of the Year will almost undoubtedly have more suitors after him this offseason than he did out of Centennial High School, where he was a three-star prospect in the class of 2022.

That’s because Dent only had offers from Big West schools like UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach State, along with other mid-majors like California Baptist and Montana State out of high school, ultimately leading him to pick head coach Richard Pitino and the Lobos three years ago.

Three years later, there should be a lot more teams interested in Dent’s backcourt services, with power conference teams like the Villanova Wildcats (+475), Texas Tech Red Raiders (+600) and UCLA Bruins (+800) kicking down the doors to get the veteran guard out of the portal.

There’s also a solid shot that Dent opts to come home to UNM in 2025, with Pitino and the Lobos checking in at +800 to land him, ranking ahead of teams like Arizona and Kentucky (+1250 each), Florida and Indiana (+1500 each).

What we know for sure is that one NCAA team is going to land the 2022 California Mr. Basketball winner, with Dent having all the time in the world to make up his mind on where he wants to wrap up his collegiate career in 2025.
